The No-Shame PFP & Collectible Collection
Collectibles, memes, large art editions, generative series, and profile picture projects (PFPs) are part of the crypto art ecosystem and culture.
They allow to collect works by artists who are too expensive for their unique works and get into communities that are like-minded (even if the model of PFP projects is currently being tested to its core, questioning the real meaning of crypto communities and their dependency to short-term speculation and market activity more than to sharing the same ethics & values. To me, these projects renew the genre of (self) portraiture, satire and self-reflection. It re-invents how one sees and presents oneself on a new digital & pseudonymous online ecosystem.
