“This work is one of the most important in my collection. From the artist I love and its Camus reference, to the “burnt auction” it was sold at and the day Malik and I acquired it. There is more significance in this work to me as a collector than most. Let me explain a bit more. Brendan is an artist I got to meet and become friend with. He is one of the most talented digital artist, who manages to work with a high number of data and still create poetic and artistic output. This specific work is based on a quote by Albert Camus from L’Etranger, which is a book I re-read once a year to not forget. It was sold at the first crypto art auction in France in March 2022. Lucie Eleonore Riveron, the founder of Fauve Paris, fought hard for months with the French government and the auction committee to make public sales of purely digital art legal. The burnt auction was the first to be held without having to sell a physical component of the works. Finally, the day we acquired the work from New York was the day my husband left his job at Bank of America, which allowed us to start a new adventure and for us to be able to move to Argentina. Hence the connection to the title, Here and Elsewhere.“

What I love about this work

When things are forbidden it takes dreamers to venture into the unknown and challenge perceived norms.
